Breaking down the divide

Our group works only on the grounds of respect, equality and empathy.  Our beliefs are reflected in a quote taken from a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP) who was diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder in her 20's.

After suffering a childhood of domestic violence, an abusive relationship, self harm and overdoses; she was offered therapy that helped her to create a curious, accepting, non-judgemental attitude towards herself.  She expressed how incredibly healing it felt to have someone continuously say “that sounds like a really understandable reaction”.

The words of wisdom that she shares with us all are:

“We need to keep breaking down the ‘us and them’ barriers. Being human we all suffer at times. There is no divide between ‘ill’ patients and ‘normal’ professionals."
